Ah, fortunately I will not have to f-lock my earlier pr0n post. I was going to do it solely for the pics, 'cause Lord knows some people get really uptight about guro and pr0n, but the adult content setting LJ already has is even better. I never f-lock my posts if I can help it. I'd hate to hide a good rant like that. It's no fun if people not on my flist can't read it and see my thoughts, especially when I get that fired up--if I'm going to show my emotions and get angry or upset, I shouldn't hide it for multiple reasons. I always wonder how writers who work solely under f-lock get by. I know some of them are good/popular enough to get plenty of reviews regardless, but it's got to suck for those trying to build up a readership. Writing for oneself is fine and well, but to have the readers write back with their feelings and questions--solid gold.

I love this series!

in which I rave about the wonderful anime that is Ghost Hunters )

I highly recommend this series, especially for people who may like ghost stories but don't like to be scared badly and don't enjoy the lasting creep factor that creepypasta might give you.

Last night on /an/, there was a thread about some Russian bears (I think) who had lost some of their fur. They were, in fact, bare bears.

Hold on, that's not the funny part.

One of anonymous didn't believe it was real, and that's understandable because from some angles, the bare bears did look like people wearing weird bear suits. In a board as antagonistic to furries as 4chan, no wonder he was doubtful.

So another poster told him that not only was it real, but that he could google "naked bears" to verify this.

I didn't catch the cruelty of that suggestion until the disbelieving anon came back and told the guy suggesting a google search that he was a bastard.

Much lulz were had.

I didn't know Funimation had a youtube channel with anime. I'm watching Ghost Hunters right now. ^_^
Oath Breaker II: Dawn and Twilight
by KC

Disclaimer: I wish I owned Harry, Draco and all the rest; they'd do a lot more stuff than they do in the books and it'd all be rated R through X. Alas, however, I do not.
Other info: Draco-centric. Sequel to Oath Breaker. Harry/Draco, Lucius/Narcissa/Severus
Summary: Harry learns to live with the Malfoys. The Malfoys learn to live with Harry. The rest of the world learns to deal.
More Info: A damned introspective chapter and much talking. Next chapter will have political intrigue at least, and stuff blowing up.

Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7

Part 8 )

Dave Barry's year in review: 2009
It was a year of Hope -- at first in the sense of ``I feel hopeful!'' and later in the sense of ``I hope this year ends soon!''

It was also a year of Change, especially in Washington, where the tired old hacks of yesteryear finally yielded the reins of power to a group of fresh, young, idealistic, new-idea outsiders such as Nancy Pelosi. As a result Washington, rejecting ``business as usual,'' finally stopped trying to solve every problem by throwing billions of taxpayer dollars at it and instead started trying to solve every problem by throwing trillions of taxpayer dollars at it.

To be sure, it was a year that saw plenty of bad news. But in almost every instance, there was offsetting good news:

Japanese Porn Game Lampoons Rape Game Controversy
An Amazon.com listing for RapeLay caused outrage back in February, leading to a boycott called by a New York Councilor (despite it not being actually released over here). Rape games were banned in Japan, then they weren't, then they were again, then some eroge makers stopped letting Western viewers view their web sites, while others got around the regulations by just not calling them "rape games" anymore. Phew, you still with me? Good!

Given the fallout and the controversy, it was only a matter of time before the game makers started poking fun at the whole kerfuffle in their games. The following text appears at the beginning of Shinobiryuu, an eroge released in Japan last Friday (as translated by Canned Dog):

Declaration

This is a declaration made with the consensus of all the characters that appear in this story.

All the characters appearing in this game have gone through special training and all actions carried out are done on the basis of mutual agreement.

Even if you're a inhuman person who believes that fictional characters in creative works do not have human rights, please do not ignore this.

We also thank all the kind people who see a character in the story saying phrases such as "help me" and take it as a real call for help.

However, even though you are worrying for the characters in the story, these are all lines spoken from a script.

They are not saying all this from the bottom of their hearts. We are sorry that they have put in so much effort into their acting that some people will confuse it as something that is really happening.

This game is a fictional story.

If that little tongue-in-cheek disclaimer wasn't enough, the game also lampooned the hubbub in a conversation between two characters:
Surprised Suigen Ninja:
I've recently learnt something that surprised me

Listening Suigen Ninja:
What is it?

Surprised Suigen Ninja:
We, fictional characters, apparently have human rights.

Listening Suigen Ninja:
Huh?

Surprised Suigen Ninja:
There are apparently some special people that will get angry and show sympathy for us if we get raped. And they'll start lobbying for us too.

Listening Suigen Ninja:
Wow, we even can't do anything ourselves without a creator or a player but we have human rights

Surprised Suigen Ninja:
Surprising isn't it?

Listening Suigen Ninja:
Yeah. But since they acknowledge that we have human rights, I wonder if they'll acknowledge that we have the right to vote too. Our creators will work hard to do some political manipulation.

Surprised Suigen Ninja:
We can't be greedy. But well, since we have human rights we might as well suggest it.

Listening Suigen Ninja:
You're right

Surprised Suigen Ninja:
We're doing as we please. Please stop taking unneccessary actions.

holy crap, an icon post

About 40'ish icons. I didn't bother to organize the damn things 'cause I don't wanna. Yes, a couple dark and a couple fetish, but I figure if you're on this LJ, you know enough of what I post to know whether you should click or not.
